Can heavy wall and towel attachments be directly fixed to the Villaboard® sheet?
Answer: All attachments must be fixed through the Villaboard into the frame.
Can I tile Villaboard® Lining?
Answer: Yes, refer to relevant technical manual.
Can I use Villaboard® Lining over an existing floor and tile over it?
Answer: No, Villaboard® cannot be used on floors. Tile and Slate Underlay is the product to use for this application.
Can the Villaboard® Lining sheet be fixed directly to roof trusses at 900 mm centres?
Answer: James Hardie recommend the Villaboard® Lining sheets must not be fixed directly to the roof trusses and that the trusses must be battened out at a maximum of 600 mm centres.
Can Villaboard® lining be glued to a masonry wall that has been plastered and painted?
Answer: The walls must be battened out with 45 mm x 30 mm batten and the Villaboard lining sheet is then fixed to these battens.
Can Villaboard® Lining be used on an external wall?
Answer: No, Villaboard® Lining has been designed and tested for use internally only. Look at our external cladding range for suitable options.
Can Villaboard® lining be used to line walls and ceiling of an indoor enclosed pool?
Answer: It can be used as long as Villaboard® bedding and finishing compounds are used for flush jointing of the sheets, and in this case all sheet fixings must be stainless steel.
When fixing Villaboard® Lining to a wall that will be painted, can I set the internal corner?
Answer: Yes, as the wall is not tiled internal corners can be taped and flush stopped.
Why must I use perforated paper tape for Villaboard® jointing?
Answer: Perforated paper tape is recommended as it has greater diagonal strength than mesh tapes ensuring a stronger durable joint.
