How do I paint the aluminium accessories used with LineaTM Weatherboard?
Answer: These accessories are coated with a chromate wash. It is best to apply a primer coat, and then two coats of quality exterior grade paint as per the recommendations of paint manufacturer.
In what scenarios face fixing of LineaTM Weatherboard is required?
Answer: Face fixing is required at corners, around openings and when using Linea Weatherboard for bracing or fire rating applications. Face fixing may also be required where appropriate to ensure the overlapping board is flat against the underside board.
Should the LineaTM Weatherboard joints be in line?
Answer: No, they should be staggered at 600mm centres minimum.
What can I use as a starter / cant strip with LineaTM Weatherboard?
Answer: H3.1 treated timber is used as starter / cant strip.
What equipment can I use to achieve a mitre join with LineaTM Weatherboard?
Answer: A compound drop saw fitted with the appropriate Dimond Tip Saw blade and vacuum extraction system is the recommended equipment for all cutting tasks. Hitachi and Makita make these saws with 10” and 12” blades.
What is the warranty for LineaTM Weatherboard?
Answer: The product warranty is 25 years.
When jointing LineaTM Weatherboard is there a minimum distance the joint should be placed from the stud?
Answer: Yes, 100mm is the minimum distance.
Which sealant should I use when installing LineaTM Weatherboard?
Answer: James Hardie recommends the use of BRANZ appraised sealants like Sika Silaflex MS or similar.
Why does ‘gapping under the lap’ occur with LineaTM Weatherboard and how do I fix this?
Answer: Board gapping can be a direct result of frame inaccuracy. The appearance of board gapping can be reduced by face nailing at/near gap to framing.
